NEW Receives Grant from Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan to Build Nonprofit Capacity
NEW to Provide Training and Technical Assistance to LGBT Grantees
Detroit, MI – NEW of Ann Arbor and Detroit, Michigan, announced today a generous grant of $2,400 from the HOPE Fund of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan. The grant will fund training and technical support for southeast Michigan nonprofits serving lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) youth organizations. NEW’s BoardConnect program, with over 10 years of experience helping nonprofits in southeast Michigan, will work with the organizations to strengthen their boards and improve governance.
“It’s an honor and a vote of confidence for NEW to be engaged by an organization such as the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan to build the capacity of their grantees,” says Michael Tyson, President and CEO of NEW. “We’re extremely pleased to guide these organizations in building strong boards and developing their leadership capacity.”
